Hello World!
Here we go, this is the due title for any “first” thing :)
I have recently decided to quit my $dayjob and take some time off to focus, other than myself, on some research ideas on malware analysis, threat intelligence and threat hunting that I have never had the time to properly do… but also to read and write.
Writing is a great exercise for many reasons. First, by putting things down it helps clarify and solidify your own thoughts in your head. Second, writing on a public blog is also a great way to give back and get feedback from the community, to validate your ideas. I feel like most of the times I will be writing for myself to be honest, to put down something I have learned so that I can go back and reference in the future, not necessarily a “breakthrough idea”, just my own notes and thoughts. But that’s the thing though: we often feel we have nothing to write about because we are not writing something new, “amazing”, something no one else has thought about before. While even just sharing thoughts and having feedbacks, helps generating discussion, fostering new ideas and improving current knowledge.
I’m also conscious that most of the personal blogs just fade out after the initial euphoria and a bunch of posts, and publishing becomes more and more sporadic. While I initially thought I would try to give myself a fixed cadence (e.g. once every two weeks), I’ll try not to force it for now. Let’s see how it goes.
